Group Homes -- give teens age 15 to 19 a chance to learn daily living skills and develop responsibility and self-reliance through structured community living, with 24-hour staff supervision. Individual, group and family therapy is provided as residents continue toward educational/ vocational goals and receive life skills instruction. The agency currently operates five group homes in Monroe and Wayne Counties.
The Community Residence -- serves youth age 13 to 18 with diagnosed psychiatric illness who can benefit emotionally, functionally and socially from a community living situation in a structured, therapeutic, closely supervised setting. Close partnerships between clients, families and staff help teens achieve educational, vocational and independent living goals.
The Transitional Independent Living Program (TILP) -- gives teens greater independence and privacy than in Group Homes, while providing 24-hour access to staff support. While sharing four separate apartments within a complex, teens toward educational, vocational and self-sufficiency, while receiving guidance and support from staff counselors who work out of an adjoining apartment.
The Supervised Independent Living Program (SILP) -- provides regular support and guidance to help older teens, age 16-1/2 to 21 (and their children if they are parents) adjust to new independence while living in apartments and completing their education and/or working in the community. Most SILP teens were previously in the residential program or group homes. Case managers visit regularly with SILP teens to help them progress toward goals, address issues and connect them with community resources.
The Teen Mother and Infant/Toddler Program -- addresses the complex needs of teenage mothers who have emotional issues while they live in a supervised group home setting with their children. Young mothers age 12 to 21 complete school and/or vocational training while receiving therapy, support and instruction to help them develop as self-sufficient, responsible parents capable of providing a stable, nurturing environment for their children.
