The Villa offers one of the largest and highly regarded case management programs in the state, with the sole purpose of helping youth succeed within the context of their daily lives and avoid out-of-home placement.
Six decades of experience with at-risk youth have also made the Villa a resource to schools, students and parents on how to promote positive behavior and resolve conflicts. Through the Community Partnership Program, the agency offers youth development workshops to share success strategies.
The agency also puts its experience into action as a partnering agency in a number of community initiatives aimed at developing assets in at-risk youth. The Villa works with Rochester’s Juvenile Drug Court, providing adventure-based therapy to help recovering teens. The agency was selected by the Monroe County Probation Department to run a Juvenile Justice Reporting Center, an after-school supervisory program for troubled youth during which they receive an intensive combination of academic, behavioral, recreational, vocational and community support. The Villa was also chosen to lead the Rochester TEAM (Together Everyone Achieves More) project to address the unique needs of teens who have HIV or who have family members with the virus. The recreational project aims to help the youth develop attributes like self-esteem, leadership, trust and teamwork that translate to success in school, relationships and life pursuits.
